Winter Quarter's Temple

We took the girls with us on our last trip to the Winter Quarter's Temple. We were able to switch off with a family in our ward so that we watched their kids while they attended and then they watched our while we attended. It was a nice day - there was even a bride outside being photographed for her wedding!

We went into the visitor's center also. Inside there is a replica of a small cabin such as the pioneers might have lived in while they were in Nebraska. When you step inside, a dim light comes on and a recording starts to play. A woman named Mary Richards explains about the hard times. One of the girls we were with looked up to see where the sound was coming from and asked, "Who is that (speaking)? Is that Joan of Arc?" No, I said (trying to think where this idea possibly came from), it is a pioneer named Mary Richards. Lulu was looking at a butter churn and then said, "Look this is where they put the compost." (how does she even know what compost is?) Her friend says, "No, that's the butter smasher, that's where they make the buttermilk!"

Afterwards we got ice cream cones at Zesto's - mmmmmmm!!
